Summary

The text is a rhyming poem, describing an anthropomorphic bunny's bedtime ritual of saying "good night" to various inanimate and living objects in the bunny's bedroom: a red balloon, a pair of socks, the house of bunny dolls, a bowl of porridge and two kittens, among others; despite the kittens, a mouse is present in each extension. The book begins at 7:00 p.m. M. And it ends at 8:10 p.m. M., With each extension spaced 10 minutes apart, as measured by the two clocks in the room, and reflected in the crescent moon. The illustrations alternate between two black and white pages of objects and the two-color pages of the room, like the other books in the series; this was a common cost-saving technique at the time.

Review

In a large green room, hidden in bed, there is a bunny. "Good night room, good night moon." And to all the familiar things in the softly lit room, to the image of the three little bears sitting in chairs, to the clocks and their socks, to the mittens and the kittens, all one by one, says the bunny. good evening.

In this children's literature classic, loved by generations of readers and listeners, the quiet poetry of words and soft, numbing illustrations combine to create a perfect end-of-day book.
